This Year’s Theme: Comeback
The most fragrant exhibition of the year is back! Last year, ArkDes was closed, and the traditional gingerbread house competition was cancelled. But now, Gingerbread House is making a comeback – and with your help, it will be better than ever!
The theme for Gingerbread House 2024 is “comeback.” Have you made a comeback that you want to express in gingerbread dough and icing, or is there something you long to see return?
The word “comeback” comes from English and began being used in Swedish in the 1930s. It is pronounced [kambäk´] and means to return or make a breakthrough after a period of absence. How you choose to interpret this year’s theme is entirely up to you – the more interpretations, the more exciting the exhibition!
